BATON ROUGE, LA – State Treasurer John M. Schroder announced today that he has named former legislative analyst Nancy Keaton to serve as his Chief of Staff. In this role, Nancy will oversee all administrative functions of the Treasury.

“I’ve known Nancy since I first started in the Legislature over 10 years ago,” said Treasurer Schroder. “I relied on her budget and fiscal expertise throughout my time as a legislator, and she will be a tremendous asset to my office and Louisiana taxpayers. She has the knowledge and insight to help the Treasury continue to serve as a watchdog over the state’s finances.”

Nancy also organized and staffed legislative committees including the House Committee on Appropriations and the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget. She reviewed legislative instruments, budget summaries, and presentations by House Fiscal staff, and researched and analyzed complex fiscal topics including Medicaid financing.

Prior to her position with the House Fiscal Division, Nancy was a policy analyst with the Louisiana Department of Health and served as a development officer for the Capital Area United Way in Austin.

Nancy earned a Master of Public Affairs Degree from the LBJ School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas. She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge.
