BATON ROUGE, LA – The State Bond Commission met February 17 and approved $592.9 million for projects statewide, according to State Treasurer John Kennedy.

“The commission approved funding across the state that will help local governments continue to provide important services and make meaningful upgrades to a variety of public facilities,” said Treasurer Kennedy.

Some of the meeting approval highlights include :

Loans for political subdivisions:

  • Lafourche Parish Council, $5 million (conditional approval)
  • Avoyelles Parish, City of Marksville, $500,000
  • Vermilion Parish, Hospital Service District No. 2, $2.2 million

Bonds for political subdivisions (QSCB ARRA):

  • Ascension Parish School Board, $10 million
  • Terrebonne Parish School Board, $10 million
  • Ouachita Parish School Board, $10 million
  • Lincoln Parish School Board, $10 million (conditional approval)
  • Louisiana Community Development Authority (St. Landry Parish Public School System), $10 million

Bonds for political subdivisions, state agencies, boards and commissions, and industrial development boards:

  • Louisiana Housing Finance Agency (1501 Canal Apartments Project), $22 million
  • Rapides Parish, Recreation District, Ward 9, $4.985 million (conditional approval)
  • Louisiana Community Development Authority (Ormet Primary Aluminum Corporation Project), $35 million (GO ZONE)
  • Industrial Development Board of the Parish of East Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Inc. (Georgia Pacific LLC Project), $249 million (GO ZONE)
  • LPFA (Ochsner Clinic Foundation Project), $150 million (preliminary approval)
  • Caddo Parish, Town of Blanchard, $1.5 million (and $6 million in bond anticipation notes)
  • Caldwell Parish, East Columbia Water District, $1.595 million (preliminary approval)
  • Louisiana Public Facilities Authority (Lafayette General Medical Center Project), $11 million
