BATON ROUGE, LA - The State Bond Commission approved $482 million for projects statewide and $310,000 in savings at its May meeting, according to State Treasurer Ron Henson.

 

"The funding approved for local governments will enable them to continue to provide necessary public services to residents,” said Treasurer Henson.

 

Among the individual projects approved were:

 

Caddo Parish: $120 million in Water and Sewer Revenue Bonds for the City of Shreveport for drinking water and wastewater collection, treatment and disposal system improvements.

 

Lafayette Parish: $5.5 million in Taxable Utilities Revenue Bonds for the City of Carencro (LDH Program) to make waterworks system improvements and additions.

 

Ouachita Parish: $20 million in Sales Tax Revenue and Refunding Bonds for the City of Monroe, refinancing bonds resulting in $310,000 in gross savings.

 

St. Landry Parish: $550,000 in Taxable Utilities Revenue Bonds for the Town of Sunset (LDH Program) for drinking water and natural gas system improvements.

 

West Carroll Parish: $1 million in Revenue Bonds for the Town of Oak Grove (DEQ Project) for wastewater system improvements.

 

Louisiana Citizens Property Insurance Corporation: $50 million Line of Credit to pay insurance claims in the event sufficient funds are not available.

 

Louisiana Public Facilities Authority: $260 million in Hospital Revenue Bonds for the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System Project for construction, renovation and equipment of a children’s hospital and capital improvements to Our Lady of the Lake Medical Center.

 

Louisiana Public Facilities Authority: $25 million in Revenue Bonds for the Clean Water State Revolving Fund Match Program to provide matching funds necessary to obtain grants from the Environmental Protection Agency.
